It sounds obvious, doesn’t it? But, take the time to think, what are you doing in your life that takes you a long time and absolutely drains you? I bet you can think of something. It could be anything such as cleaning, driving to work, doing your taxes, etc. Once you have something in mind, think about it and ponder, can this be done by someone else or is there some tool that can make my life easier? When you start approaching the tasks with the mindset that there are solutions to them and that you can make them easier, then you will be able to decrease the amount things you have to do that you do not like and that can be very time consuming. Your life will become more open and you will be able to pursue after things that you want to do. For example, I had worked for different companies that required long set hours from me for years, but I wanted to have more freedom and dictate my own schedule. Because of this desire, I formulated plans on how I was going to still make money, but still have the flexibility that I wanted with my schedule. With my plans, I started my own eBay business and started selling things all around my house and things that I found at garage sales. I made a large chunk of money and I barely spent a few hours a week dedicated to my small business. Even though my eBay business was pulling in some money, it was not enough for me, so I started doing some freelance work by teaching individuals how to use their technology. This is pulling in even more money as more and more people need help with their Zoom platforms and how to fully understand how to use their computers. My shift in how I generated money for myself has allowed me to have an easier life, make more money in less amount of time, and allow me to pursue after ideas that I want to pursue.
Do things that will maximize your time
In one day, there is not a lot of time. Let’s think about this, you have 24 hours in one day, but you should be getting about 8 hours of sleep. So this means that you have about 16 hours, but you also have to eat about 3 meals. This means you probably have around 14.5 hours, but you also have to cook and clean if you live by yourself. Because this takes forever, you will probably only be left with 12.5 hours and let us not forget about work, which will take about 9-10 hours including traveling time. That means you have about 2.5 hours in your day to do something that you want to do and the worst part is that many of us only binge watch Netflix with this amount of time. Instead of making our lives easier, we choose to live in the same mundane lifestyle by going day by day, only living for the weekend. This is very depressing and we shouldn’t live like this whatsoever. Because we should all go after more, I want you to write out exactly what your average day looks like, then see what areas you can save time on. It could be that when you order at a restaurant, you purposefully order a little more for leftovers. Or, instead of hand cleaning all of your dishes, you can invest in a dishwasher. There are so many different things that you can do to save you time, but you just need to start thinking about it. For me, I saved some time in my day and made my time for enjoyable when I started to be smarter about it. As in, I thoroughly enjoy playing online competitive games, but sometimes I do not perform as well as I could and this means I can get really frustrated when I lose. So, to combat this and ensure that I have a better time, I spent a good chunk of time practicing and learning instead of just rushing into a new game. My games became better, I started to have a better time, and I saved some time in my day. Ultimately, by making smarter choices with your day, you can make it 10 times easier and you can save time in certain areas.
Save time in specific areas so you can do more
You have a limited amount of time in a day, so why not save time and maximize your experience. Would you not love to have a better time in your day? Of course you would, so make your life easier and enjoy it more. Go through your average day and see what you can improve. Once you do that, your days will become better, because your time is valuable.
